Traffic jams in large cities waste much of public precious time on a daily basis. What are the reasons …….. and what can be done …….?

In the last century, traffic jams have negatively affected people’s daily life. It is believed that people valuable time is wasted in large cities because of traffic jams. While there is several reasons causing this problem, both public population and governments should take action to solve this problem.

It is clear that one of the main reasons why people living in large cities suffer from traffic jams is that most people prefer their own private cars to commute rather than public transport systems. And so this public selfishness cause dense traffics in cities. One of the obvious answers is to convince people to use public transportation or even their own bicycles to commute. This could lead to reduce traffic jams while there are fewer cars in streets. Also, governments should improve public transportation infrastructure in order to make people comfortable while they commute to their destinations.

On the other hand, there is a public tendency to migrate to large cities. Much more and well facilities and infrastructures lead to huge immigration and make cities much more populous than before. While there are more people living in large cities, traffic jams would get heavier. A good idea would be to make people live in their own cities. Public facilities improvement would be one of the answers to this problem while lack of appropriate facilities in rural areas and small cities impose immigration to people. Also people should invest more on their own local areas in order to help governments reforming existing abnormality on population distribution.
